You do not need to be a resident of Rhode Island but the license should be obtained in the city that the wedding ceremony will occur in or in the bride's or groom's city of residence.

There is no waiting period for license issuance. The license is valid for 90 days and can be used only in Rhode Island.

If you were married before, you'll need the certified copy of the divorce decree or a certified copy of a death certificate. No blood tests are needed.

There are no proxy marriages. Legal marriage age in RI is 18.



South Carolina
