Montana Marriage Laws

Both persons apply in person for the license and pay a cash fee. You'll need a picture ID (driver's license) and a certified copy of your birth certificates.

If you are divorced, bring a certified copy of your divorce decree.

You do not have to be a resident of Montana. There is no waiting period for license issuance. The license is valid for 180 days and can only be used in Montana.

Legal marriage age is 18. There are proxy marriages in Montana and a rubella blood test may be needed.
